Furthering our cause is the most important goal of our organization. We seek to support, empower, and provide high-quality resources and services to the youths in our community. Our success is not measured in terms of wealth or profit margins. It is measured by the value we provide to those we serve. Help us bring our programs to life.

Math Summer Academy

One of our goals is to help close the learning gap by providing our students with a supportive environment conducive to learning math skills and concepts at their own instructional levels for 2-4 weeks during the summer of 2023. Our plan is to diagnose deficiencies, group students based on commonalities, schedule time for personalized instruction, and allow our teaching professionals to review and use data to drive instruction. Over the years, math fluency is usually the subject in which students lack proficiency most each year, and more so during this pandemic-ridden school year.

Returning to the classroom after the pandemic is a challenge for our students. Our students are promoted to the next grade level with insufficient time for gap-filling and remediation through virtual and hybrid models with little to no peer interaction. With your donation, we will be able to rent a suitable location, recruit professionals, and provide all the instructional materials that will be needed. In turn, we will have our students more confident in grasping deficient and prerequisite skills needed for their next grade level and beyond. Our goal is to raise $25,000.

Bridging the Literacy Gap

The United States has established the goal that all students will be reading at their corresponding grade level by the end of third grade. The goal is an important milestone because it marks how children transition from learning to reading. Thus, improving their fluency and literacy. If students are not reading at grade level by the end of third grade, they will more likely to have academic difficulties later in their schooling.

Increasing evidence suggests that early intervention is key to preventing difficulties in literacy from becoming long-term problems. Therefore, we must work together as a community to help our youth bridge the gap in reading and literacy. As a community, you can help by supporting FSFYD in launching our Bridging the literacy Gap program. The program will use a reading software, intervention strategies that are researched-base and other data-driven methods to help our youths read and perform better in the future, both academically and in their personal lives. Our goal is to raise $15,000.

Charity

Donation.png

It’s easy to take the simple things in life for granted, like a warm bed to sleep in or food on the table. But for many people, these basic necessities are hard to come by. In fact, one in seven people worldwide does not have access to clean water, and more than 800 million people go to bed hungry each night. That’s why charity work is so important – it helps those struggling and makes a real difference in their lives.

Charity work can take many different forms. You can volunteer your time at a local soup kitchen or homeless shelter or donate money or goods to a charitable organization such as FSFYD. No matter what form it takes, charity work is always appreciated and impacts those who receive it.

This holiday season, consider giving back to those less fortunate than you. There are many ways to do this, and FSYD would be grateful for any donations you can provide. We promise to put them to good use and make a difference in the lives of those who need them most. Thank you for your support!

Tutoring Services

Do you want to make a difference in your community? Are you looking for a paid opportunity to gain experience in the field of education? If so, tutoring with Student-Led Tutoring Services may be the perfect fit for you!

As a tutor with Student-Led Tutoring Services, you will have the opportunity to work one-on-one with students in your community, helping them to succeed in school and reach their academic goals. This is a great way to gain valuable experience in the field of education, and it is also a great way to give back to your community. And best of all, here at FSFYD, we believe in providing our tutors a stipend for their time and commitment! Our goal to get this initiative started is $30,000.

If you are interested in becoming a tutor fill out our form, and we will reach out in the future.
